Nicole K. Furuta, DDS

Dr. Furuta was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Since moving to Colorado over 10 years ago, she has enjoyed every minute of living in such an active state. Dr. Furuta works as a dentist who combines a gentle, friendly style with advanced dental techniques. She will make you more comfortable than you ever thought possible because she wants to keep people happy and healthy by giving them the smile they have always wanted.

Dr. Furuta recieved her bachelor’s of science degree at the University of Puget Sound. She is a doctoral graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and has completed a one-year general practice residency at the veteran’s hospital in La Jolla, California. Dr. Furuta continues her education each year with some of the nation’s top clinicians. She loves staying up to date on the latest techniques and advances in dentistry.

Despite her extensive clinical focus, Dr. Furuta has the unique ability to make her patients feel completely at ease, helping them make informed choices about their dental health. She and her husband, Tad, and their young son love living in our local area. Dr. Furuta is an avid runner, having completed five marathons and 12 half-marathons and counting. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and is always on the lookout for great new restaurants.

Kelli—Office Manager

Kelli has 14 years of dental management experience. She joined the Lodo Dental team in September 2016. Kelli received her associate’s degree in business from the Community College of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has a loving husband and 4 darling children. In Kelli’s spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling, and watching football, volleyball, and basketball. She likes working downtown, and loves the energy of the staff and the positive patient interaction. At Lodo Dental, we strive to provide superior comprehensive dental care and top notch customer service at all times.

Carley—Front Office Coordinator

Carley earned a Bachelor of Science in health and exercise science from Colorado State University. She makes all our patients feel welcome, comfortable, and at east so that they can have a great dental experience. Carley loves her friendly coworkers, our great patients, and our fun, downtown location. She believes that Dr. Nicole Furuta is a very kind and caring doctor who takes great care of her patients and staff. When she isn’t working, Carley enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs. She loves running and swimming in the summer, snowboarding in the winter, and cheering on our Denver Broncos.

Julie—Periodontal Therapist and Registered Dental Hygienist

Julie has been with our office since April of 2009. She is originally from Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2008 with her Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. Julie believes that we have the best patients at Lodo Dental and best group of employees. Dr. Nicole Furuta makes all of the patients feel at ease, and Julie loves proving to them that our office can be a safe, inviting environment.Julie and her husband, Andy, have a daughter named Zoey and two puppies, Lucky and Soco. In her spare time, Julie loves hiking, dancing, yoga and spending time with her family.

Katie—Periodontal Therapist and Registered Dental Hygienist

Katie has been practicing dental hygiene since earning her degree in 2012. She has very much enjoyed being a member of our team and serving our amazing clients since joining our practice in 2014. Patients often say she is thorough, caring, and has a gentle touch. Katie is passionate about giving patients at Lodo Dental the absolute best care, which is why she consistently pursues continuing education in her field. Learning and studying new, cutting-edge techniques to serve you better is not only important, but also something that Katie thoroughly enjoys.Colorado has been Katie’s home for 12 years, before which she traveled the globe courtesy of the military. Katie is an avid skier and equestrian. When not working at Lodo Dental, you can find her teaching barre fitness classes and exploring Colorado with her husband and their two hound dogs, Roscoe and Daisy Mae.

Kristi—Periodontal Therapist and Registered Dental Hygienist

Kristi has bene practicing dental hygiene for 22 years. She studied health and science at Brigham Young University Idaho and then at Utah Valley University before finishing her dental hygiene degree at Laramie County Community College in Wyoming. Kristi likes being part of an efficient, innovative office with quality employees. She feels her experience brings clinical success to our practice.Kristi is from Littleton, Colorado. The majority of her family lives in the Denver area. Her nine nieces and nephews are the light of her life. She enjoys attending the performing arts, cultural festivals, art events, bazaar, and markets in the city and the mountains. Kristi also enjoys Denver’s restaurants and music venues, especially summer concerts at Red Rocks.

Dixie—Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Dixie graduated with a dental assisting certificate in high school, and earned her expanded duties dental assisting certificate a year later in 1992. She enjoys continuing to grow in the dental field, and easing patient fear while educating people in oral care for better health. What she loves most about our office is the confidence and gratitude everyone shares. Dixie is a Colorado native who grew up in Arvada and currently calls Henderson home. She is married and has three children. Dixie loves her pets and her kids.

Shelby—Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Shelby made the Honor and High Honor rolls all semesters of her schooling, and was named a Dental Science Outstanding Student. She is an enthusiastic team player who makes beautiful temporary restorations, and feels that we all make a great team. In her spare time, Shelby loves playing guitar, hiking, camping, skiing, and fishing.

Sophia—Sterilization Technician

Sophia helps our office run smoothly by making sure all of the instruments are clean and in perfect condition. She loves the positive energy and smiles that are everywhere at Lodo Dental. Patients always leave us with a perfect smile, and that is the one thing that makes Sophia’s day.Sophia has two amazing parents and brothers, a dog, and a crazy cat. Some of her hobbies include cheer, basketball, and exploring YouTube. She also enjoys music and dancing.
