Take Note of Any Damage Your Teeth May Have as the Result of Bruxism

Does your mouth appear damaged or are your teeth extra sensitive? If so, you may be suffering from bruxism. Bruxism is the result of damage to your teeth via grinding and gnashing them as you are unconscious or asleep. If you are not sure if you do suffer from it, take note of any damage your teeth may have as the result of bruxism.

This task may seem daunting at first, given the difficulty of picking up on disorders that occur when you are unconscious, but there are ways. Firstly, you could always ask someone, typically a sleep partner or roommate if they have ever noticed that you grind your teeth while you sleep.

Alternatively, you can do your own investigations and check your mouth for signs of damage. This includes damage to your cheek tissue and tongue. If any strange markings or irregularities appear, especially bite marks on your inner cheeks, bruxism may be to blame. Other signs include enamel wear, tooth sensitivity, and unexplained kinks and chips in your teeth.
