Have you noticed a crack on one or more teeth as you’re getting ready for the day or brushing your chompers? If so, it’s best to contact Lodo Dental and schedule an appointment with your dentist, Dr. Nicole Furuta. The sooner you treat the tooth, the better. When you come to our office, we will use one of many treatments to help you.

For a minor crack, your dentist can repair the tooth with a dental bonding treatment. This involves placing dental resin that is the color of your smile over the tooth. Then, she will shape it and harden it. This covers and repairs the crack.

For a medium crack, your dentist can repair the tooth with a tooth splint. This involves bonding the harmed tooth to the healthy tooth next to it. This gives the cracked tooth the stability and support it needs while the surrounding bones and gums recover. This is a great option if the tooth is loose or displaced.

For a large crack, your dentist can repair the tooth with a root canal. This involves removing the internal damaged layers of the tooth. Then, once the inside of the tooth is cleaned and cleared, your dentist will cover and protect the tooth with a dental cap, which is also known as a dental crown.
